Should You Redesign the Website or Repair What You Have?
A full rebuild is not always the best commercial decision. Use evidence to separate structural problems from fixable ones.
A redesign feels decisive, but it can discard working search visibility, content and integrations. A repair can be faster, but only when the foundation is sound.
Repair may be sensible when
The content structure is usable, the platform is supported, the main problems are performance, visual consistency or a small number of customer journeys.
A rebuild may be sensible when
The site is difficult to edit, dependencies are unsafe, the information architecture no longer matches the business or every new feature requires a workaround.
Audit before deciding
Review analytics, search performance, templates, content, hosting, plugins, integrations and editor workflows. Then compare the cost and risk of both routes.
The objective is not a new appearance. It is a digital system that serves customers and is economical to operate.
