Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before the work begins.
Every project is different, but ownership, communication and expectations should never be vague.
Working together
What size of business do you work with?+
CodeWay works best with owner-led companies, established SMEs, e-commerce teams and agencies that need dependable senior development capability. The important factor is a real problem, clear access to decision-makers and willingness to collaborate.
Can you work as a white-label development partner?+
Yes. We can support design, marketing and technology agencies with confidential WordPress, WooCommerce, OpenCart, PHP and integration delivery.
How do projects start?+
We begin with a discovery conversation. For complex systems, a paid discovery or technical audit may be the safest first step before committing to the full build.
How will we see progress?+
Projects are divided into milestones with review points. Ongoing plans can use a shared ticket system showing what is planned, in progress, under review, being tested and complete.
Technology and ownership
Which platforms do you support?+
Core expertise includes WordPress, Gutenberg, WooCommerce, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Laravel, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and REST/SOAP integrations. Platform choice is based on fit, not preference alone.
Will we own the website and source code?+
Yes, once agreed invoices are paid. Third-party licensed products remain governed by their own licences. Your business should control important accounts, data and infrastructure.
Can our team edit the site?+
Yes. WordPress websites are built with reusable Gutenberg components and structured content. We also provide training or documentation where required.
Do you use page builders?+
We can support existing Elementor, WPBakery or similar sites, but new performance-focused builds generally favour native Gutenberg and purpose-built components to reduce overhead and lock-in.
Cost, timing and support
How much does a project cost?+
Cost depends on content, design originality, data, integrations, business rules and risk. Use the project estimator for early planning, then validate the range through discovery.
How long does a website take?+
A focused marketing site may take several weeks, while e-commerce, migration or application work can take several months. Content readiness and feedback speed materially affect timing.
Do you provide hosting?+
We can recommend, configure and manage suitable hosting, but we prefer the client to own the hosting account. This preserves control and avoids artificial lock-in.
What happens after launch?+
You can choose a care or growth plan covering updates, monitoring, development, optimisation and technical guidance. Alternatively, we provide a documented handover.
